About

OUR HOME IS SAN FRANCISCO AND FROM HERE, WE LIKE TO GO PLACES NEAR AND FAR.  MOM HAS WANDERLUST, DAD LIKES ADVENTURES, AND THE BOYS ARE EXPLORERS-IN-THE-MAKING.

The TACO family is Tim and Amihan (otherwise known as Papa and Mama), Cosimo, a 4 ¾ 5 1/2 year-old boy who someday wants to live in Madagascar, and his little brother, Octavio, who is 18-months 2-years old and whose first words were “ball”, “cat”, and “bird”.

Before having children, Tim and Amihan traveled a lot.  Their favorite places are Lucca, Italy (where they were stranded after missing the train and had to sleep outdoors at the Piazza dell’Anfiteatro) and Oaxaca, Mexico (where they tried chipolines or fried grasshoppers – crunchy!). Tim even had the opportunity to live abroad in Paris, France and Morelia, Mexico where he learned to speak French and Spanish.  Although born in the United States, Amihan lived in the Philippines during her first five years of life.  Today, she dreams about living in the Philippines again, but this time with her family, and exploring the food, language, and culture of the country which she hardly knows, but misses tremendously.

Together with their two boys, Tim and Amihan, plan to keep traveling.  They are not daunted by the customary belief that travel is impossible with children.  As much as they enjoy traveling to faraway places, however, it is also far in between.  So, the family makes a point of exploring places that are not so far but are just as fun and exciting.  Follow the Wandering Taco to see what new places they have discovered and what new adventures they are plotting!

**Amihan is your blog writer, but Tim may pop in once in awhile to say hello.  Cosimo is starting Kindergarten soon and is just learning to read and write.  In time, you might find a contribution from him too.
